Convent Rooms Gallery

Project of studio for touristic purposes in the historic convent
Home / Portfolio / Convent Rooms Gallery

The project was designed to participate in the interior design contest of the Convento Room Gallery Hotel, which will be housed in the future in a historic monastery building, built in 1667 in a quiet place in Chamusca, Portugal. The former monastery has a large collection of paintings, which gave the name of the future hotel - Room Gallery.

Project Details

Location:Chamusca, Portugal

Type:Hotel

Area:60 sq.m

The monastery is far from popular tourist routes, among the hills covered with forests. In the old park, among the orange trees and centuries-old Araucarias, peace reigns, it is always fresh and quiet. The hotel is designed for those who are tired of the hustle and bustle of big cities. The slogan “The best place for doing nothing” reflects the philosophy of the project.

The hotel apartments have a bedroom, a fireplace room with vaulted ceilings, and a spacious bathroom.

When choosing a color palette, the inspiration was the colors of Portugal - the colors of the ocean, greenery and peacocks.

To visually increase the space, the doors from the Invisible collection were used (built into a hidden box that allows you to hide the door to the bathroom under the mural); mirror paintings; glass interior partitions; Paper Palace Folded Hall mural wallpaper with volumetric effect, combining Renaissance traditions and modern ideas.
